The project strengthens Slovakia's cyber resilience and technological sovereignty
Project NFP401101C360: Research and Development of Advanced Artificial Intelligence Solutions for the Detection of Cyber Threats and Defense against Sophisticated Attacks delivers significant benefits for cybersecurity, the development of research capacities, and the protection of Slovakia’s digital infrastructure.
One of the key benefits of the project is the enhancement of digital infrastructure resilience. Through the development of advanced algorithms and behavioral models for cyber threat detection and prevention, the project strengthens capabilities for identifying and mitigating cyber threats. Research activities also focus on the protection of critical infrastructure sectors, including public administration, energy, transport, and healthcare, against increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks.
The project further supports the development of domestic research and professional capacities in the field of cybersecurity. An important component is the strengthening of cooperation among Slovak universities and research organizations. The project also includes the establishment of a shared research facility dedicated to cyberattack testing and simulation.
Another major contribution is the transfer of knowledge between academia and industry. The project bridges research and practical experience through collaboration with strategic partners from the security sector. The knowledge generated through this interdisciplinary research will also be incorporated into educational programmes in cybersecurity and information security.
The project contributes to strengthening Slovakia’s position within the European cybersecurity landscape. The integration of research outcomes into existing security solutions supports the creation of a stronger and more resilient digital environment. Project activities also include the development of recommendations for public policies and legislation in the field of cybersecurity.
An important dimension of the project is the advancement of Slovakia’s technological sovereignty. Supporting domestic solutions based on artificial intelligence and machine learning reduces dependence on foreign technologies while enhancing the competitiveness of the Slovak technology ecosystem. The project promotes the development of specialized security platforms and open-source solutions that contribute to building a stronger European cybersecurity ecosystem and increase the capacity to compete with major international players.
Co-financed by the European Union through the Slovakia Programme under project No. NFP401101C360: Research and development of advanced artificial intelligence solutions for the detection of cyber threats and defense against sophisticated attacks.
